Analysis: Despite leading for nearly the entire game, the Bengals ran only 53 offensive plays. Mixon in particular felt the effects of that depressed volume, as he saw a season-low 12 carries. He salvaged his day a bit with work as a pass catcher, as his 24 yards were his second-best mark of the campaign. Through six games, Mixon has yet to surpass 100 total yards in any contest and has topped 70 rushing yards just once.

Productive in Week 5 win

Mixon carried the ball 25 times for 81 yards and caught all four of his targets for 13 yards in Sunday's 34-20 win over the Cardinals.

Analysis: While Ja'Marr Chase scored all the touchdowns for the Bengals in the victory, Mixon kept the chains moving by topping 90 scrimmage yards for the second time this season. With quarterback Joe Burrow finally looking healthy again, the whole Cincy offense should open up, giving Mixon some upside in Week 6 against a Seahawks defense that's surrendered five rushing TDs in four games.

Held to 76 total yards

Mixon carried the ball 14 times for 67 yards in Sunday's 27-3 loss to the Titans. He added one reception for nine yards.

Analysis: Mixon was facing a stout run Titans' run defense, so his 4.8 yards per carry was an encouraging figure. He still didn't show much explosiveness -- his longest gain of the day went for only 13 yards -- though it's hard to hold that against him given the matchup and the overall state of Cincinnati's offense. Most importantly, Mixon continues to dominate work out of the backfield, as he accounted for 14 of the 15 carries by the team's running backs.

Breaks TD drought in win

Mixon carried the ball 19 times for 65 yards and a touchdown while catching one of two targets for five yards in Monday's 19-16 win over the Rams.

Analysis: Mixon hit pay dirt for the first time this season with a 14-yard touchdown scamper on Cincinnati's first offensive drive coming out of halftime. The 27-year-old experienced a slight increase in touches after handling 16 in the season opener and 17 in Week 2. Backup Trayveon Williams was the only other back to record a carry, and he was limited to that one rush all game. Mixon should continue to dominate the Bengals backfield in a Week 4 matchup with the Titans on Sunday.

Modest results in losing effort

Mixon had 13 carries for 59 yards and four catches for 36 yards in Sunday's loss to the Ravens.

Analysis: Early on, Mixon's runs were the only aspect of the Bengals' offense that were working. The offense opened up in the second half, which worked against Mixon a little bit as the Bengals tried to catch up. He'll hope to get in the end zone for the first time this season next Monday against the Rams.

Works as lead back in blowout loss

Mixon had 13 carries for 56 yards and caught three of five targets for 17 yards in Sunday's 24-3 loss to Cleveland.

Analysis: Mixon had more rushing yards (45) than Joe Burrow did passing yards (36) in the first half, but his success on the ground didn't lead to any points. Neither Chris Evans (three touches) nor Trayveon Williams (two touches) posed much of a threat to Mixon's workload while rookie fifth-round pick Chase Brown was a healthy scratch, so Mixon is the clear lead back for the Bengals heading into a Week 2 home game against the Ravens.

Not in line to play Saturday

With coach Zac Taylor noting Thursday that none of the Bengals' starters will play in Saturday's preseason finale against the Commanders, per Paul Dehner Jr. of The Athletic, Mixon is presumably not in line to see action in the contest.

Analysis: With the team's key players in line to sit out the contest, Mixon's next opportunity to see game action will occur Week 1 against the Browns. While Mixon remains the Bengals' clear-cut top back when available, the pecking order behind him has yet to be solidified, with Trayveon Williams still dealing with an ankle injury. Also in the mix for complementary work behind Mixon are Chris Evans, who is a candidate for third-down duty, and 2023 fifth-rounder Chase Brown.

Mixon was a limited participant in Thursday's practice due to a calf injury, Tyler Dragon of The Cincinnati Enquirer reports.

Analysis: Mixon didn't appear on the Bengals' first Week 16 injury report that was issued Wednesday, so his limitations Thursday could signal that the running back picked up the calf issue midway through practice. More clarity on Mixon's situation should arrive during the Bengals' final practice of the week Friday, but Giovani Bernard is the next man up out of the backfield in the event Mixon is sidelined for Sunday's game in Miami or is limited during the contest.

Rumbles for 156 yards

Mixon ran for 136 yards on 25 carries and added 20 yards on three catches during Sunday's 34-13 loss to the Patriots.

Analysis: The Bengals' continued struggles in the passing game have paid dividends for Mixon. The Oklahoma product now has an unreal 342 total yards over his past two games and has topped 100 total yards in four of his last six games. Tallies 186 scrimmage yards

Mixon carried 23 times for 146 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Browns. He also caught three of four targets for 40 additional yards in the 27-19 loss.

Analysis: Mixon gashed the Cleveland defense for 6.3 yards per carry on his way to a new season high in rushing yards. He scored a one-yard touchdown in the second quarter and rounded out his performance with a season best in receiving yardage as well. It's been slow going at times for Mixon this season, but he's averaged 93.8 rush yards per game over the last five while scoring touchdowns in three of his last four. He will look to continue his strong run of form next Sunday against the Patriots.

Finds end zone in first win

Mixon rushed 19 times for 44 yards and a touchdown while catching all four of his targets for 26 yards in Sunday's 22-6 win over the Jets.

Analysis: Mixon powered in a five-yard touchdown in the second quarter for his second rushing score in the past three weeks following a nine-game drought in that category to start the season. He has three receiving touchdowns this season, but Mixon had been in a lull with only three receptions over the past three games combined before tying his season high with four catches in this one. Mixon carried 18 times for 79 yards during Sunday's 16-10 loss to the Steelers.

Analysis: Mixon's 18 carries were his second most since Oct. 6, and he averaged a respectable 4.4 yards per tote against a solid Pittsburgh front. He curiously wasn't involved in the passing game and finished without a target for the first time this season. Mixon carried 15 times for 86 yards and a touchdown Sunday against the Raiders. He also caught one of three targets for 17 additional yards during the 17-10 loss.

Analysis: Mixon averaged an impressive 5.7 yards per carry against a solid Oakland front while scoring his first rushing touchdown of the season on a three-yard plunge in the first quarter. He wasn't especially involved in the passing game, but his 103 scrimmage yards -- combined with his touchdown -- were an encouraging sign for his fantasy owners.
